How to recognise talent?
Talents abound within organisations, but they are not always recognised as such. Research indicates talents try to prevent repetition and therefore thoroughly dislike being stuck in a rut. This is why it is important to not only consider the things people have mastered already, but to also take into account what drives them in the current stage of their careers.
True talents will always have the urge to raise the bar. They don't do so to impress those around them, but out of a love of being challenged and to reach for a higher goal. In doing so, the Goals will often be adjusted, although they do need to be realistic. Talents are always involved in self-improvement or outclassing other talents. The urge to distinguish themselves plays an important part - the drive to deliver peak performance. Talents are always keen to learn and pick up those things that are particularly important to their development, leading to even more improvement.
In addition to this, talents master the art of simplifying complex matters. Playing football is simple, but playing simple football is more difficult.
In order to maintain a significant challenge, such talents tend to surround themselves with competitively strong people. Moreover, talents are often very conscious of their energy, and peak at the right moments, increasing their decisiveness.
Stamina is definitely relevant to this. What may be just a ditch to some, may be a gaping ravine for others.
